The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

@bradlander.bsky.social said he was at immigration court in NYC today and 8 asylum seekers were taken, not permitted to make their cases under U.S. asylum law.

A few hours later in the same court plaza, New Yorkers stood up for those and other #DisappearedinAmerica with @workerscircle.bsky.social.

It is unconscionable that people are being disappeared in our city, in this country. #disappearedinamerica
In NYC, in the shadow of ICE and the federal courts, people stand up for the #DisappearedinAmerica. Others did the same all over the country. Find their images and spread the word.

Not in our names.

Spare a thought for Jessica Ramos, who threw out her principles & alliances for a spot in the Cuomo administration, and today got 0.39% and is watching a likely Mamdani primary win.

This is always who Brad has been, and I hope more people see that after yesterday. He absolutely deserves a spot on your ballot. And don’t rank Cuomo!
Brad earned a spot on everyones list. He’d be a fine mayor. I’m ranking Zohran 1 but Brad is my solid 2. Please rank him!

AND DONT RANK CUOMO.
Good morning.

@ezraklein.bsky.social just made it abundantly clear: "Lander sure looks like the kind of guy you’d want in charge at a time like this."

@prisonculture.bsky.social and I have been encouraging people to read chapter six of our book, Let This Radicalize You, which deals with the question of "violence" in social movements. We have decided to share the chapter publicly, to offer some context and grounding for the current conversation.

An MSNBC anchor just definitively claimed Padilla didn't identify himself when video clearly shows he did. So fucking irresponsible. This is how lies spread.

Retribution, revenge, payback. The Andrew Cuomo style of governing. No thanks.

This is great, and just reminded me that a bike trip up to City Island this summer is going to be a must-do.
Wonderful to meet with residents and small business owners on City Island, and stop by Clipper Coffee, Cinema on the Sound and Dan’s Parents’ House. Visit these gems!

This is a campaign for every New Yorker in every neighborhood across the five boroughs.

This xenophobia has no place in New York City.

Our diversity is our strength, and our democracy should be inclusive and accessible to all, regardless of birthplace or background.

All New Yorkers, and especially Democrats, should stand with @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social against this bigotry.

Of course Uber props up Shahana's opponent, with $, a website, and expectations to side with Uber against working people.
