Electric stove glass cooktops are actually glass-ceramic. Glass-ceramics are a family of materials accidentally invented in 1950s. They can be designed to have very low (and for some use cases slightly negative) coefficients of thermal expansion - good for telescope mirrors and cookware.

Glass-ceramics can also be used for missile nose cones. I learned about that connection thanks to @nuclearanthro.bsky.social posts.
In another example of testimony that wasn't backed up by evidence, the head of ICE ERO's Chicago Field Office testified that a protestor had "ripped a beard off an agent's face" and broken part of ICE's building.
When questioned, he admitted he had no evidence of this at all.

Spending the day being very cybergaslit by Copilot about type safety and state management, but made it to Lito's on Lake to grab some asada fries for lunch, which made things less terrible. Next, I am going to listen to Severance soundtrack on repeat and reflect on implementation refinements.

Lifehack: find a cozy place in your neighborhood that you like and become a regular. They'll remember what hot sauce you prefer. They'll remember to grab you a pitcher of oatmilk for the coffee. They'll remember these things even if you have a headache from writing a self-eval.
