The agency of the Right lunching to the right is not the fault of the Left. And it has ended in curating an authoritarian voter base easily corrupted by MAGA. This is inarguable, no matter how much Never Trumpers wish it weren't so.

How are we to coexist with these people after what they've done to our society? I fear the dehumanization I am feeling towards them.

America collectively made this decision, and until it collectively fixes it, it collectively deserves the disaster. This means a lot of innocent or stupid people are gonna suffer. But it is necessary that the country as a whole finally suffers devastating consequences for giving this GOP power.
People notice when they suddenly can’t get food or healthcare. That’s not something you hear about on social media, it’s an unavoidably harrowing direct experience.
So immoral and avoidably harmful to do that to millions of Americans. But I bet few of them will blame the people who aren’t in charge.

There is a deeper scary proposition here about the state of mass media consumption and our narcissistic culture that makes you wonder if they "can't". What if the modern world is incompatible with liberal democracy? A majority that is incapable of figuring out why anything actually happens.

Conservatives have not always been Nazis. What they have always been is intellectually and morally flexible, and only willing to police their own if there were political consequences. Unsurprising that it ultimately metastisized into a Nazi infestation once those consequences stopped manifesting.
“they’ve always been like this” is such a lazy argument, it’s demonstrably untrue and pushing them back means understanding that it is untrue
"they've always been like this" is always a tempting savvy take but it is just not true that Republican staffers were 100 percent open Nazis back in 2004, or hell even 2014. they just weren't
