There's a reason that the mainstream media developed editorial and fact-checking standards. Without them, the media environment gets overwhelmed with crazies & the audience goes along with them - as the right wing is discovering with Candice Owens and the ongoing drama over Charlie Kirk's death.
I observe that total moral degeneracy tends to have a corrosive effect on a political movement, if it has no genuine standards or principles then it will tend to get devoured by progressively more insane grifters

Over the holiday, I finally read Bevins' "The Jakarta Method," which covers the crimes of the right-wing dictatorship in Brazil. The fact that Bolsonaro was an apologist for them is insane.
