It's almost like this attachment causes suffering. Now if only there were a way to end this attachment, we could end the suffering as well!
One of the biggest insights I've had over the past year is that many people, contra utilitarianism, are actually attached to pain and suffering, and view any attempt to help solve their problems or relieve them as a personal attack. It's one of those things you start seeing everywhere, can't unsee.

The way the "free speech zones" at Broadview were put up, have been policed, and continually keep shrinking is a microcosm of what's happening to free speech in America as a country.

Seeing Schumer make benign requests, only for the Republicans to reject it, may seem annoying but is unfortunately good politics. The Median American Voter loves senators saying “mightn't we find some Bipartisanship?” and is saddened when Republicans say no. They slurp this stuff right up.
