Jeffries: "The border is secure. That's a good thing. It happened on his watch. He wants to claim credit for it, of course he'll get credit for that. In terms of making sure that we actually deal with the issues that matter, including on immigration, there's a lot that's left to be desired."

Rep. McBride (DE) voted in favor of this measure.

This is consistent with the support she’s given this term to prior bills that deregulate industry and weaken or destroy regulators. (She’s cosponsored bills that knock down financial regulations, in particular).
59 House Democrats joined Republicans in voting to codify Trump's suggestion box for billionaires to complain about public interest regulations that prevent them from defrauding you.

It's a campaign of terror.

Her terror (and the terror of entire communities, forced into hiding) is not incidental.

It is a product they are manufacturing, a key part of the spectacle for their intended audience.

Which is the terrorized, but also the terror consumers.
Agents in Key Largo, Florida ripped this woman wearing medical scrubs out of her car as she screamed she is a US citizen. Agents cuffed her and put her in one of their cars.

She was eventually let go, per David Goodhue of the Miami Herald, who also took this footage:

I was very tired today on the last day of classes and didn't think I was going to write, but I managed 487 words in the late afternoon. Probably rewrite part of them tomorrow.

NEW: You've read a lot about immigrants kidnapped, forcibly detained, and held in ICE facilities -- what about the immigrants *trying* to leave the country? Turns out its wildly difficult for them too.

don't miss this from @telliotter.bsky.social:
The Trump Administration Wants Immigrants to Self-Deport. It’s a Shit Show
The Trump administration has been virtually begging immigrants in the US to self-deport, even offering money. But some immigrants say it’s been nearly impossible.

If new proposals detailed in an FDA memo are put into place, experts told me it would mean the end of annual flu shots. And end of most vaccines for pregnant people. And maybe the end of updates to pneumonia vaccines. And more.

I’m not American but if I was, I think the Democrats’ flaccid responses to…everything, and their ‘wait for the midterms’ approach, the general ‘don’t bother me, I’m brunching and launching books’ attitude would be somewhat frustrating
For some reason Democratic leaders seem to prefer telling voters what they won’t be able to do, rather than what they’d like to do.

If Hegseth ordered a war crime and lied about it, shouldn’t Ds try for impeachment? Put Rs on the spot. They might get a few defections.
