I missed that Boston Mayor Michelle Wu did this yesterday! Excellent bsky.app/profile/mayo...
I just signed an executive order instructing @boston.gov departments to take a range of actions to protect our residents and make clear that we will hold anyone accountable who commits violence, property damage, or any criminal conduct in the City of Boston—including federal officials.

She offered me $2600 to self-deport.
I refused.
I wanted to talk to my attorney.
They didn't tell me the judge had already ordered my release and return to Minnesota.’

Wrote this piece on the joys of cultivating a deeply weird FYP before the TikTok TOS update but I stand by this: We gotta find and celebrate the weird in our lives or we will not make it through this.
How Weird Can Your For You Page Get?
While at surface level, #WeirdTok is all fun and games, it also cuts to something deeper about being human.

We decided to drop the paywall on @kwanetaharris.bsky.social because it's so powerful and urgent. Kwaneta writes about how the state is her abuser as an incarcerated woman. Read for free here: www.theflytrapmedia.com/aint-we-wome...
Ain't We Women, Too?
For many incarcerated women, the state is their abuser, but the gender-based violence we experience behind bars goes ignored.

Hello. Do you know that African Asylum seekers - two of whom are people I know, one who escaped enslavement and the other saw her father killed in front of her - are being told in court that they will be sent to Uganda for processing?

And now their attorneys have to fight that?
