WeRateDogs turns 10 years old today! A very silly idea to numerically objectify dogs has become one of the kindest and most powerful online communities ever. Thank you for joining us over the last decade. I never knew what this could be until you all showed me. Here's to many more good dogs ❤️

I'm not sure if others have noticed this, but interesting that one of the Prescott criticisms of the BBC is based on those of the 'History Reclaimed' group, which is also associated with the 'Restore Trust' group's attacks on & so far unsuccessful attempts to take control of the National Trust. 1/3

We need more reporting of local government. This is quite a thread...
Cllr Daniel Taylor, currently on bail pending trial over allegations that he threatened to kill his wife, has attended today. Given he missed every other meeting since his arrest, he would have been disqualified as a councillor had he not arrived today.

Perhaps the BBC could offer Trump one of his beloved deals: they'll apologise for broadcasting sections of his speech, if he apologises for trying to overthrow an election, lying about the result, pressuring election officials, urging a crowd to "fight like hell" & pardoning those who did just that.

Like why would the bbc need to ‘balance’ its cover of the US in this way?

When the BBC covers, say, Xi critically should it also run a programme dedicated to the CCP’s achievements?

Neither Tim Davie nor Deborah Turness incited an insurrection against the US Capitol. Congressman didn’t have to flee for their lives because of a BBC Panorama edit.

That all happened because of President Donald Trump. If he didn’t resign, it’s truly *insane* that anyone else does.

Glad that someone has finally taken responsibility for the appalling assault on democracy that was the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Slightly confused that it's the Director-General of the BBC, but what do I know?

Rather amusing to watch the British and political media establishment tear itself apart over fear of insulting Trump just at the same time as Trump's myth of invincibility is falling apart in America

Samir Zitouni and Stephen Crean are heroes who saved lives. They showed the best of Britain: putting themselves in harm's way to protect others.

They both deserve the George Cross in recognition of their incredible bravery.

Seriously - Mr Goodwin, Mr Hannan: the lot of you - get in the bin
What’s the betting countless one-time immigrants worked flat out through the night to save the lives of those so grievously injured & support everyone involved? We’re blessed to have them - our emergency & public services would fall apart without them

Amen
Anyone who will lie unapologetically about mass violent attacks to push their own profile and political cause is beneath contempt.

There’s no need to book such people, to platform them, or to listen to them. That’s not because of their politics, or their views: it’s because of their dishonesty.
Matt Goodwin attributes a crime that he now knows appears to have been committed by people born in Britain in the early 1990s to "mass uncontrolled immigration"

My most popular cartoon by a long chalk is also oddly niche, in that it mostly appeals to a generation who remember the song it refers to and enjoy the nostalgia for their youth. I can draw one for you if you like.

It should be remembered that Jimmy Savile's "career" as a mass rapist of children never saw him arrested or charged.

Savile and Epstein used the same methods: compromise, leverage, blackmail. In both cases their co-conspirators remain in the shadows: rich and powerful men who never face justice.
