One reason it’s hard to get equal representation from conservatives in research and education and culture is that there’s no intellectual underpinning to conservatism. Any analysis is backfilled to justify activity and policy motivated entirely by animus. If it’s ever correct, that’s coincidence.

I recently finished Cuckoo by @scumbelievable.bsky.social and I can’t stop chewing on it. It really is like the queer IT, an influence it wears on its sleeve but still feels incredibly flesh—I mean, fresh—and relevant. and particularly nasty gore too. loved it

I will NEVER vote for a politician who votes for anti-trans legislation. Never. I don't care who it is, it's a dead issue. Move on. If my vote is so important to the future of democracy they should have thought of that before they voted to exterminate my child.

just called @alsobrooks.senate.gov office to register my displeasure. what good are you if you can’t stand up for the most vulnerable among us? if that doesn’t change I will be supporting a primary campaign to remove you from office, Senator, and encouraging all my friends to do the same
Here are the 28 Dem Senators who voted to advance the first federal ban on trans athletes & a federal definition of sex that would make trans & intersex people non-existent: Angela Alsobrooks (MD), Tammy Baldwin (WI), Richard Blumenthal (CT), Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), Chris Coons (DE), ->
By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. (Rand Paul probably voted nay and Steve Daines has been absent).

Amazon is making money off AI copies of books - and putting the onus on authors to prove they’ve been plagiarised.
Honestly, just stop buying books from Amazon. Get them from an actual bookshop or order them from a reputable book supplier like bookshop.org
