Interesting trial. Especially interesting to note that the SMD between the AI chatbot and waitlist is equivalent to the SMD between face-to-face psychotherapy and waitlist. If psychotherapy is «remarkably effective», then so is the AI chatbot.
AI chatbot somewhat more effective than waitlist control. An effect of d=0,61 is something you would expect from a self-guided intervention, but I suspect it’s much more expensive.

Interesting trial. Especially interesting to note that the SMD between the AI chatbot and waitlist is equivalent to the SMD between face-to-face psychotherapy and waitlist. If psychotherapy is «remarkably effective», then so is the AI chatbot.

In medicine, "AI safety" would include concerns that tools based on gen AI and machine learning don't cause harm to patients, which they very much can and do.
NIST has issued new instructions to scientists that partner with the US Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute (AISI) that eliminate mention of 'AI safety,' 'responsible AI,' and 'AI fairness' in order to reduce 'ideological bias, to enable human flourishing and economic competitiveness.'
