The SAVE Act was never going to pass the Senate, but passage was never the point. This piece lays out the real strategy: throw a barrage of voter suppression moves against the wall—all of which are designed to sow fear, suppress turnout, and muddy the midterms—and see what sticks.

Quite a day: Catholic clergy gained access to the Broadview, IL ICE facility this afternoon, and Church & state officials joined a mass & procession honoring immigrants this evening.

I hope my coverage today was useful, and as always, I appreciate any support you may wish to offer for my work.

I see a lot of people frustrated with lack of accommodation for low-medium needs autism, ADHD, anxiety, and depression and I want to caution us all to keep in mind that high/severe needs people with mental illness/neurodivergence are neither your rivals, nor are they receiving higher quality care

And that does not build wealth for the individual.

That builds wealth for the community.

All of our failings right now, seem to fall on the same sword.
This dereliction of duty.
This derision towards any kind of responsibility to the whole.

It bothers me a lot.

People who care about their community make the decisions that will see to it that their own needs are met, and then they will reinvest everything else.

Ages ago, I remember reading a critique about why the people with the most money are so egregious. And the answer was spelled out plainly.

People who care about their community do not become fabulously wealthy.

More of this, please. The folks in this grassroots group are heroes.

Haven Watch lives by the promise, “No One Walks Alone.” Day or night, they show up. When people are released from ICE detention, volunteers meet them in the cold, disoriented, and exhausted.

Beautiful and devastating all at once.

One day, Sony's going to get bored with Crunchyroll, or the line's going to stop going up, or something, and they're either going to absorb it fully or just kill it off and shove the licenses elsewhere.
