By that logic, the MAGA culture is incompatible with the West.

I don't think it's so radical to say that anyone who denies that Biden won the 2020 election should be barred from holding public office. It is an unquestionable mark of a seditionist and on par with pledging loyalty to a foreign government or army.

In fact, I would urge us to make a point of moving some future conferences to the affected countries.
For those of us in academia, it would be unethical and irresponsible to hold a major conference in the US under these circumstances.
Under the expanded ban:

The administration genuinely seems to believe it can pull back from the world stage yet somehow still tell the rest of the world what to do. And it has a very firm idea of what it wants Europe to do, which is “be as racist and xenophobic as Trump.”

I detest mega mergers. In fact, I’m hoping for a modern day wombo-combo of Teddy Roosevelt and FDR, combining muscular monopoly-busting, accountability, regulation, and government intercession a la the WPA.
That said, Netflix acquiring WB is probably preferable to Paramount/Ellison doing so.
