Watching Game of Thrones with my kid, we get to the moment in the final season where Jon tells Dany he's really Aegon Targaryen and my kid asks why they tried to get it past us that he's the only Targaryen without white hair. Fresh eyes and all.

I just watched Heat (1995) with one of my kids. The least plausible moment is when 55 year old Al Pacino overpowers 34 year old Henry Rollins.

My favorite thing is I think this movie is the moment Pacino and Deniro both transition from acting to just playing caricatures of themselves.

Chappy Chanukah everyone. Candles lit. Attempted a French recipe for a single skillet latke. Not as good as the tradish. It is once again time for my favorite holiday celebrating armed guerrilla warfare by extremist zealots.

Australia doesn't have 0 mass shootings, but very few. In 1996 there was a mass shooting in Tasmania. Then, you're not gonna believe this, politicians across the political spectrum DID SOMETHING. Not thoughts and prayers. They regulated guns, and it helped solve the problem. Unthinkable in America.

Warms the heart. #4 is all of us, doing what we've been doing. #5 and #7 are still major problems left to us by the institutions and establishment Dems that were supposed to stop fascism and chose not to. We will have to fix that too.

We in San Francisco remember that Dhillon spent years working and suing to maintain segregation at Lowell High School in the name of “merit” which kept out black and brown students.
As a GOP activist, Harmeet Dhillon frequently insisted that the federal government has “little to say” about how states run their elections. Now, as head of the Civil Rights Division at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), she claims the feds have “sweeping” authority to seize state voter rolls.

“Where in the United States does Antifa exist” proved to be a real stumper to the guy who just said Antifa is the biggest terrorism threat in the United States.
GLASHEEN: Antifa is our primary concern right now. That's the most immediate violent threat we're facing

BENNIE THOMPSON: Where is antifa headquartered?

GLASHEEN: ... ... ... we are building out the infrastructure right now

THOMPSON: What does that mean?

At SFGH for a candlelight vigil and memorial for Alberto Rangel, the social worker who was killed this week. This was predictable and preventable. It was a failure of systems and could have been any of the thousands of committed workers across DPH. We are all heartbroken.

There's a candelight vigil tonight. I'll be there. This is horrible, and was preventable.

I am highly entertained by the ass-showed of YIMBY-endorsed politicians opposing new housing in a rich neighborhood. The voter base of moderates was always rich NIMBYs, who were perfectly happy to use NIMBY as a cudgel against anti-gentrification activism while preserving rich enclaves.
