And a Nuremberg Trials or Truth And Reconciliation Commission or SOMETHING.
It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

no one has even bothered trying to convince us there’s a threat from Venezuela. no weapons of mass destruction. nothing. just a war of choice because why not.

My wife wrote this 🔥:

"Framing management of resources for people experiencing homelessness as a question of cost containment serves the functions of structural racism, obscuring root causes of homelessness and inverting the framing of the economic burden of cause and effect."

It's raining in San Francisco. I love being cozy in my house but I feel so sad and angry about the thousands of people City policymakers abandon on the streets. It's a daily violence we tolerate as a society, and then punish people for showing the wounds we inflicted.

I am not upset at all with Democrats like Bill Clinton and Larry Sommers getting dragged down by the Epstein Files. What you mean sellout opportunists who spent decades inflicting suffering on poor people around the world are also sexual predators in their free time? You don't say.

Struck this morning by how the win wasn’t from the UC system itself pushing back—it was its worker power through *unions* and aligned groups like @aaup.org defending UC interests, even though admin itself wasn’t.
There’s some kind of lesson here
One reason why elite schools (Columbia, Brown, Cornell) caving to Trump’s illegal impoundment and extortion is so galling — a betrayal, really — is that they would have won had they fought. By giving up, they guaranteed every other school will have to fight harder.

"My community deserves someone who will work 24/7 to advocate for us,” Alcaraz said. “I understand that today’s news stories would distract me from doing that.”

Our Billionaire Mayor seems to not understand that cheating on your taxes & committing wage theft is worse than a "distraction."
BREAKING: Just 7 days after Mayor Lurie appointed her to be the Sunset supervisor, Beya Alcaraz is out.

She resigned today after multiple unflattering stories, including one just hours ago broken by Mission Local on a potential tax dodge.

Last night 500 members of @seiu1021.bsky.social IFPTE21 & OE3 in Solano County had a strike school. Solano County is committing unfair labor practices by making workers pay $100s more for health benefits during bargaining—effectively holding benefits hostage til workers give up. #bigpurphasyourback

Loving @haymarketbooks.org podcast "Fragile Juggernaut" about the history of the CIO. As unionists we learn about how the militancy of left-led unions built the labor movement as we know it and transformed the economy. Even it at the height of CIO power, there were tons of compromises and setbacks.

San Francisco is in the midst of an "atmospheric river" dumping rain. It warmed my heart this morning driving around. On every block neighbors were out together cleaning debris from storm drains to prevent flooding. It seems small, but these small acts of cooperation and solidarity add up.

Some good news.
This a big deal: "China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been flat or falling for 18 months"

China's economy has grown by ~5% in the last year, so this comprehensively debunks the idea (again) that emissions are tied to growth. So yes, faster progress needed, but this is how you turn the corner.
