I’ve never felt unsafe in this bougie neighborhood a day in my life. This is a 25 mph zone, full of fancy bars and restaurants, a curling club, salons, boutiques, and one of the busiest coffee shops around. They are doing their damndest to wreck everything here.
This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.

This man is such an effective communicator and asks the best questions. More like him in Congress, please.
Neguse as Bondi refuses to answer his questions: "You eliminated the National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team last year! So I understand why you don't want to tell the American people who works there. No one works there anymore." (Note Bondi responding with smears.)

One of my new goals in life is being called a loser by Trump.
Means you’re likely doing something right.

REP. STEIL: Some Dems demands put at risk the safety of members of law enforcement

CNBC: You mean like taking off their masks and having a badge that shows who they are?

STEIL: Well, they're known to their supervisors

CNBC: No other law enforcement officials in the US are allowed to wear masks

Abolish ICE. It’s only been around 24 years anyway.
And need MASSIVE reforms to border patrol.
Can we just overhaul DHS while we’re at it?
Abolish ICE.

There’s no reforming it.

There’s no compromise.

There’s only one way to rein in ICE’s terror campaign. Abolish it.

A good time to repost this about Ilhan Omar 💕
A mutual aid organizer in Minneapolis told us that Ilhan Omar pops in to help with the foodbank.

No press, no photos, she just shows up and asks the organizers where she should pitch in.

Wow, comparing the MN occupation to active war.
He should first think about why there should be a federal war on Americans.
NEWSMAX: Are you among the Republicans who are concerned about how things are being handled in MN?

REP. RICH McCORMICK: When things went wrong in the military, when I was in the Marines, people died sometimes, and sometimes it was through no fault of anymore. Just bad circumstance. Mistakes happen

So heartbreaking. The sheer terror this administration has gleefully unleashed on its own citizens.
On NPR on Friday, there was a story of a 4-year-old--an American citizen--who hasn't left her house since early December, not even to play in the yard. And her 8-year-old brother recently stopped going to school, too. Their father is undocumented, and the family doesn't want to risk him being taken.

Haven’t seen this take on what occurred in the Alex Pretti murder. Looks like the agent in gray grabs Alex’s gun, discharges it, and then everyone freaks out.

Shooting a man, who didn’t attack you, who was on hands and knees, in the back 5+ times… and you’re the victim?

What Bovino is saying is that Border Patrol have complete immunity to act however they want and anyone who inconveniences them slightly has victimized them and can be executed. Madness
BASH: It feels as though you're blaming the victim here

BOVINO: The victims are the Border Patrol agents. I'm not blaming the Border Patrol agents. The victims are the Border Patrol agents.

Every member of congress has a duty & right to conduct oversight on DHS.

They should all come do rapid response. Come inspect the Twin Cities ICE HQ. Push in and do some oversight. Do not let the guards turn you away. Make them arrest you or beat you or let you in.

I can’t imagine this administration thought this would go any other way. They’re creating people who are willing to be killed by the feds purely because the feds have invaded their city and are terrorizing their neighbors. The Trump admin created this.
Minneapolis protester as he's being brutalized by feds: "You're gonna have to kill me! You're gonna have to kill me! I've done nothing wrong! My name is Matthew James! I'm a US citizen! You're gonna kill me! Is that what you want?" (You can hear his wife screaming)

We need all the libertarians and “don’t tread on me” folks fighting this wannabe authoritarian federal regime here in MN.
Blumenthal: "The judge's approval of a warrant is absolutely critical when they are entering your home without your consent. We revolved against the British because of this principle. The 4th Amendment, the right to be let alone, is a libertarian view."

Proud to have such an extraordinary journalist on the ground here in the Twin Cities. Proud of my neighbors!
Hi everyone -- there is a general strike in Minnesota tomorrow to protest what the Trump administration and DHS are doing to our community. In solidarity with the action, I am going to donate my revenue from tmrw's newsletter to People over Papers, the Midway-Hamline Diaper Bank, & Every Meal. (1/2)

As someone in the Twin Cities witnessing what’s happening here, we all need to take seriously Trump’s threats of Insurrection Act, martial law, and canceling elections.

Also be like Minnesotans, especially Mpls residents who are putting together an inspiring resistance to state-sponsored terror.
This is essential reading for anyone seeking insight into how voter suppression is likely to unfold in the U.S. this year and in the years ahead. As in Russia, voting may remain formally available, but the impact of an individual vote will be significantly diminished.
Is the US still a democracy? If it is, it's on life support.

"White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt later said the president was “joking” and “being facetious” about canceling the election.

If it’s a joke, it’s material he’s been working on for months." www.cnn.com/2026/01/17/p...

The more I think about this, the angrier I get. It takes a particularly virulent strain of sociopathy to sit and let hard-working people serve you a meal knowing that you plan to arrest them and send them off for deportation once they're off of work.

Really depraved shit.
A few days ago, Fox News was whining about ICE agents getting heckled at a Mexican restaurant in Minneapolis.

Meanwhile, in the town of Willmar, ICE agents had lunch at a Mexican restaurant, waited until it closed, then confronted and arrested three workers as they left.
