In the New Year, I will need someone who is skilled at making an artful map for a project that I am working on. If this is you, please reach out in January - niapoetry@gmail.com

I need a visual representation of the circulation of a historical pamphlet.

tv shows should do what sports broadcasts do and thank new audiences that are just now joining them. every five minutes, all the actors should look at the screen, introduce themselves and their characters, and announce which of them is winning the show

I want someone to make an Antiques Roadshow but it’s all like queer punk and activist memorabilia, eg flyers, zines, cassettes, and instead of appraisers it’s like local historians who just add some context to the cool stuff and share a hell yeah with the collector.
washingtonians have such a mania for documentation man i was like ‘damn i wanna learn more about go-go’ and i thought it might be not so easy because it’s SUCH a region specific thing but of course dc natives love to archive every show flyer, every scrap of evidence that our music exists

As of this morning 4,500 Starbucks workers are on strike. Don’t cross their picket line.

No Starbucks. NO Starbucks gift cards!
JUST IN: This morning, hundreds of baristas have joined our national ULP strike.

☕ The solidarity is strong: For every one barista on strike, dozens more allies have shown up in force to back our cause.

Our strike continues to grow in strength and power! #NoContractNoCoffee
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

I honestly think that many people don't know what their public libraries offer besides books. I think that everyone should go on a public library treasure hunt in 2026. Go explore what your library systems offer at no cost to you. Report back to me :)
“I miss blockbuster video” the library has every dvd totally untouched and I never see you there

Tubi may be the only service where the ads have higher production values than the shows they are interrupting.

The heist, "caught on film", had texture and warmth and an indescribable aura of authenticity that it would have lacked had it been shot with digital cameras.

I actually think this is also why Dunkin Donuts’s national rollout has been a bummer
the Waffle House Paradox is this. often i, in new york, yearn to eat at Waffle House, whose territory does not extend this far north. but relenting to my desire for a local Waffle House would degrade the beauty of the place, which is partly in its highly localized inaccessibility

Absolutely the series’s best episode and one of my favorite sitcom episodes generally
12290. AP Bio “Katie Holmes Day” - I’m treating this as a Christmas episode. I forgot how over the top this show got in its final season & even for that this is over the top. Not a complaint! (A-)

There's a couple reasons so many IWW songs are set to the tunes of hymns and one is that the Salvation Army Band would show up and try to stop workers organizing by playing hymns to drown out speeches, so the Wobblies came up with words so they could sing along. SA has been trash all along.
It's that giving time of year again, so this is a reminder that no matter how they try to dress it up, the Salvation Army is not a charity.
