Coastal dweller switches to rural idyll. Derelict cottage with garden along nettly prickly lane. Tiny dog. Elder. Sorting House and Stuff. Literature. Arts. iPad rubbish.

Can I do a tiny bit of advertising?

I have a short gay romance that's vaguely seasonal and only 99c. It has judgemental chickens that kept inserting themselves into my plot and a hot pink cover.

We are quite skint and I would really appreciate a boost 🥰 #Booksky 🌈📚

Peter Cook on “those wonderful Berlin cabarets which did so much to stop the rise of Hitler and prevent the outbreak of the Second World War,” notwithstanding, fascists hate artists because empathy highlights their hatefulness & renders them ridiculous.
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Hamnet was fascinating.
The man next to me fell asleep and there was some mild purring #snores and the row of seats shook a bit at times …. #emoting

Debating a referral to a sleep clinic as advised by a colleague at volunteering. Second night of semi despair. I’m reading the book written by the person she saw at the clinic. #firststeps

Might we support those who need a safe positive space here?

How about we drop suggestions below of people who post uplifting messages. So that others can create a feed which soothes, amuses, inspires and demonstrates the humanity, hope and kindness abundant around us.

Found myself at kielder this morning. Too grim altogether for photos apart from stepping out of the car I was accosted by tiny birds. I fed them a home made flapjack.

Love it when it’s Sunday and you really can’t do things from your List. Instead of you just don’t bother.
Also smug because yesterday I did two whole walks even though it was really freezing. I had two vests a thermal a fleece and a puffer jacket. Jumping in puddles.

Felt so bored with my laid up existence I went to volunteering. Back to bed on my return and slept for two hours. Up at eleven pm wide awake so made a vegetable lasagna that would feed a family for a week. Ate a tiny sample and slept like a log.

OMG. My parents went on a 2wk honeymoon on their bikes to Cornwall from Nottingham, thought nothing of it. They were avid cyclists. Dad had cycled up from north London on the day of his wedding in Mansfield, in the rain, in his suit which grandma dried in front of the coal fire for him....

I am slightly in awe of this photo taken of my grandparents just as they were about to casually ride a tandem on a 500+ mile round trip from their home in Nottingham to Devon, as if that is something you could just do really easily in 1948 on your week off from the factories where you worked.

Bluesky, had anyone seen Hamnet , the film ? I’m very tempted but also a little bit put off at the thought of needing a box of tissues at the ready /and the reviews which describe the film script as opposed to the book as a but manipulative where emotions are involved - what do you think ?

Tiny Ted woke me at 2.52 am. There was barking. We staggered out in our pyjamas and when we returned she barked again. This never happens. I didn’t have any energy left to fetch her more food supplies. I don’t think she had eaten enough. Today we are back filling.
