Coastal dweller switches to rural idyll. Derelict cottage with garden along nettly prickly lane. Tiny dog. Elder. Sorting House and Stuff. Literature. Arts. iPad rubbish.
Now debating a route home. Lorry stuck on the road on my usual route. Alternative presents a steep downhill though. Argh.

Sleep app report. I’m 53 % ready for today. Last week I had a 10%. So that’s an improvement.

More hammerings of hail.

I spy lots of snow at the back of the cottage (camera). Will need to drive home if no HF and M. If I have that, I may as well stay here to help. TT sleeps on

Light in my room still not enough to check whether I have rashes - do I also now have Hand Foot and Mouth virus or is my imagination going haywire ?

Not the best of nights. Wind outside raging. My hands started itching and seemed to spread to elsewhere. Unable to closely examine torso in the bathroom mirror (best light) as door refuses to close properly without a sharp tug which might have woken a Bebe. One needs privacy guarantees for such like

Snow. Woke to what sounded like lashings of rain and peeped out to snow ….

Trying hard. Still no sleep.

Rain but with the sound of hail involved. This morning it was tiny tiny chips of ice being hurled down when I took Tiny Ted out. Unusual for the coast. I appear to be still at the seaside. It’s very cosy indoors. I’m grateful for this very warm house - at the cottage you don’t hear the rain.

And it’s Lost in Translation. Film night. I’d stay up beyond my bedtime for this.

Bebe Sleep. Watching Love Actually. Well. It’s almost that time of year. Has to be done :)

Me and Tiny Ted have woken at the seaside. The view from here isn’t much different though :) I can hear a Bebe singing from next door. She is unwell so things must be looking up. She was eerily silent yesterday.

Hibernation kicked in today. Long walk. Washed the floor. Cleared the kitchen. And then dossed with Tiny Ted. The whole day.

Wordle a nightmare. Then suddenly got it after three goes. How weird.

I’m out for a walk.
I hear shooting.

And, although it's normally polite behavioir and I probably would have done it anyway I make a point of saying thank-you as a counter to the nastiness I see from some people, though, thankfully not in person

The sweep says there’s nothing wrong with the stove. Nothing. No carbon monoxide risk. He added. I’d still be a bit worried about the boiler. It had to have come from somewhere. Argh.

Hm. I ran the bath , took my clothes off and the sweep rang and asked to bring his appointment forwards. #delayedbaths

Tiny Ted and I are revelling in the heat. We have become accustomed to not- heat. I am drenched post walk and a shower beckons.
November 14, 2025 at 10:45 AM
Today is a day for celebration. I woke without a headache.
November 14, 2025 at 10:42 AM
We have sleet forecast for next week.

Millionaires group urge Reeves to introduce wealth tax to ‘lift kids of out poverty’.

But Govts listen to the City type.

1% have more wealth than 70% of the population.
Poorest 20% pay higher proportion of income in taxes than the richest 20%.

Can't grow economic by squeezing the bottom 50%.
Why a group of wealthy Brits have urged Reeves to introduce a wealth tax
This appeal comes ahead of Reeves’s upcoming Budget announcement in Westminster later this month

Late impromptu breakfast at Blake’s en route to the Baltic in hissing rain and with no suitable attire. Wonderful. It’s a long walk back up Dean Street but worth it. Drove home feeling uplifted.

Temperatures are dropping. Still no gas and no heat. May have to relocate again but difficult to chase engineers from a distance. Tricky times.

Would anyone be interested in collaborating with me? I’m looking for someone to write 4-panel comics or jokes that I could illustrate. Not for money, sadly, just to put joy into the world. Credit will be shard fully.

DM if interested x
