Different ways of living are possible, and are already taking place all over the world. They’re ways of love, kindness and joy. They’re quiet, humble, slow, small. They’re vital and restorative, regenerative and inclusive. I’m pledging to celebrate, support and amplify them. Will you join me?

5 things to do for sanity and self preservation this week
1. Purge your kids' toys now. Someone might need a low-cost gift
2. Try a new hairstyle you can do yourself
3. Plan a book swap with your family
4. Get some cough drops and epsom salts. It's wintry bath time.
5. Play a full album w/ no skips

Made an invented tea tonight and it was very yummy. Puff pastry topped with lingonberry jam (thanks ikea), Brie, rosemary and crushed pecans. Do copy and tell me if you also enjoy?

I let a 48 year friendship go a couple of years back. Hard at the time but now I realise that it probably wasn’t serving either of us. I wish there was a way of verbally acknowledging this together rather than the odd ghosting that happened with my friendship.
Oh she ATE; this l perfectly describes what I was writing about this morning.

Would anyone be interested in collaborating with me? I’m looking for someone to write 4-panel comics or jokes that I could illustrate. Not for money, sadly, just to put joy into the world. Credit will be shard fully.

The idea that you should be *there* by now is an illusion.
There is no *there*.
Just moments of arriving, over and over, into deeper versions of yourself.

My company food allowance is £50 per day. Realised I can buy a couple of homeless people a sizeable meal whenever I travel and consume fewer calories at the same time. Makes me feel great and have had some great chats with real people. Do it if you can.

I emailed a company who produces these and they are very kindly going to supply one free for my pal. What good people there are out there.
My elderly housebound friend is refusing to put his heating on in his freezing home. Does anyone know if there is anyone that supplies the hypothermia awareness thermometers? I am sure my gran and parents had them. I wonder if seeing how dangerously cold his room is might persuade him?

How many smiles can you give away today? I love passing them on to people I walk past. Perhaps they then pass one to someone else. See if you can spot someone without a smile and brightly offer them one of yours.

Aside from the noise, environmental impact and distress to wildlife that fireworks create, they are also damaging to our air quality. The particulate matter in Newcastle today is unhealthy and dangerous.
