Me too. Endings are often sad but they’re tangible. We too often just let things slowly decay.

I’d be considered middle class based on my education, home, job, interests. But I’m working class in my dna, aware that everything I have is fragile and have to be worked hard for, and could go at any time. Living in poverty can embed that fear into you regardless of what class you might ’reach’

I’m loving the replies and I don’t have the perfect answer but for me it’s something about security. upper class people are born into security through money, position and privilege, middle class people work for that security and working class people strive for it.

I hope you’ve found ways to fill the spaces they left. Sometimes it’s about respecting yourself and your time and energy. It’s precious!

I mean, probably not based on how they behaved, but alive, happily married, holidaying, posting on social media about other friends, so from that perspective yes. I’m glad they’re thriving anyway.

And I read your post as meaning ‘born into that country’
If you just mean changing nationality from British to something, I don’t think I’d bother.

That’s so wise. I’m not sure this one was toxic, but it just fell apart strangely. That said, I don’t really miss it. Which is also sad. I thought this person would be a life long bestie.

It was then. I’m ok with it now. But I still don’t really know what caused the separation. So odd
