Boris Johnson says the idea that criticism of the BBC is being organised by the right is ‘complete and utter bollocks’, which makes me think there might be something in it.

The government has a fucking great majority. It should strengthen measures so that BBC News reporting is truly balanced.

It should also give stronger powers to regulators over news media to ensure greater balance where possible. Outlets like GB news should not be allowed in their present form.

Vast numbers of civilians are killed in wars. They should be remembered equally at times like this and not just the military (where death is an occupational hazard). I'm not sure they get equal status. War is horrific. It can't be repeated often enough. #peace

I'm old enough to remember David Cameron introducing the two child cap without the current clamour about scrapping it. If the policy is so unpopular now, where was your objection when it was introduced?

Armistice Day is meant to mark the end of war.

Here’s to peace on Earth.

And ignore the gutter press. That way they can't drive the agenda.
I will restate my modest proposal to save the BBC: ban the BBC from covering itself.

Every BBC scandal goes huge, because every BBC News show wants to assert its independence by covering it prominently, even if several other shows already did. So it gets blanket headlines.
