February is usually very quiet for me, but I’ve three shows this year. Latest one is at OPO Scarborough from 14 Feb - 8 March, a first outing for this diptych, Adventure. Photos don’t really do it justice tbh.
Here’s me, looking like my gypsy ancestors, standing by my beloved North Sea, in gale force winds.

Saw a man with really weird hair today. He had combed and set it in a singular pyramid over his crown, the rest of his hair sat more naturally. I can only think it was an attempt to cover an egg in the nest.

Today a chap from NFU spouted guff on R4 about complex rivers being dire for wildlife.

Yet here a willow is creating a natural, oxygenated riffle.

1) Scouring rivers only benefits those who farm flood plains.

2) How do they think wildlife coped before we dredged rivers?

Answer: marvellously.

Nothing makes me angrier than Cuntyfile.
Greenwashing, factless, half stories. People in bloody bobble hats gurning into the camera.

‘The fear of moving away from London is that you will be cut off, wither on the vine or lose that urban edge, but I found it liberating. I thought that if no one’s looking, who cares?’ Jonathan Wateridge finds freedom in his Norfolk studio

I rang in sick for work, not because I was ill, but because our cat, who has never once given me a second of affection, fell asleep tucked into my lap. There was no way I was moving anywhere.

Great opening of In Proximity at Norwich Castle last night. The show is on for 6 months, and is an intriguing curation looking at all aspects of the title, through subject, materiality and duality. Worth a look. Also it’s £2 after 4pm.
