This is a fascinating read about TO's ghost #cornerstores.
Here's another that was at Linsmore Cres. & Sammon Ave.

We lived on Linsmore, 1987-91, and when my kid was old enough we'd often stroll & tricycle to it to get popsicles from the 2 men of a certain age (brothers, I think) who ran it.

From Back Flip, a novel (2002), p.23: "There was a letter for her: a pale blue, nearly square airmail G. Lalo envelope with a Paris postmark. The big one-franc stamp on it was also squarish: a two-colour reproduction of an Ingres bather, seen from the rear. The model’s spine was so sinuous that she seemed to be cowering. One of her arms covered the nipple of her exposed breast but left its peachlike roundness visible. A striped turban like a knotted dishtowel clung precariously to the back of her head as she turned to look, not quite at the viewer, but somewhere off to the side with an expression that combined sadness and apprehension. Though that could just have been the effect of the wavy postmark across her forehead. Jane stuffed the letter into her purse and started up the stairs."

A page from my grandfather's diary, which he kept while stationed as a chaplain at Shorncliffe Camp, England, 1916/17:
A yellowed page from a diary, 1916/17, written by Capt. A.H. Denoon: "When the history of the war is written, there will been much heart burning in many quarters. The waste, the awful waste is criminal. Oliver [?] equipment & Ross [?] Rifles are here discarded: why not properly equip the men in Canada? Was just looking out the window in my old suburb of #Toronto and saw *three* coyotes making their way down the snow-covered street. One emerged from a backyard and joined the other two, then they all moved out of sight. I've seen many of them over the years but only singles. #Wildlife
