I went through the thread and it's about 7 times more heated than it should be for some reason.

I think there's two perspectives clashing - game text as a recipe for an author-defined experience, or game text as an ingredient in a player-defined recipe.
If this is the case, then what possible reason is there to drop 30 bucks on a 250 page PDF?

Like...

I'm buying the game because of the synergy between the premise and the text. If you can disregard the latter, then the former is fucking free

Speaking of pedantic

Roses are red,
Violets AREN'T blue.
You're a bit colorblind,
Aren't you?
Roses are red,
But some are not,
I may be pedantic,
But I'm all you got.

It is genuinely baffling that while considering their "hard choices" these absolute losers never consider

e) keep making bad art because it's fun and rewarding, or, dare I suggest

FUCKING F) keep making bad art until it becomes less bad, and maybe even eventually good

Deeply embarrassing people.
no great artists have ever struggled, a famous thing about artists that we all know. everyone prior to three years ago lived lives of luxury.

An old commission I did in 2019 that should have been coloured or used bolder linework but is fun to zoom into to look at all the characters I drew.

Loot that drops after defeating me:
- loose dice
- a half-filled notebook
- small bag of freshly ground coffee
- really good over the ear headphones
- a cloud of dust and cat hair (CON save DC 14 vs. an uncontrollable coughing fit for 1 minute)
Loot that drops after defeating me:
- a weird mtg deck
- the unindentified bone of an animal
- bookcloth/paper samples
- a really good loot the body table
- two scarves
Loot that drops after defeating me:

- ps squirt multitool
- a pack of scalpel blades
- dice
- inexplicably five litres of homemade plastic glue
- a pikachu toy

Oh I'm definitely getting this one. And I can get it in Polish? Fantastic.

Ok, time for the Fallout finale. I made a plate of Yum Yum Deviled Eggs (mine have smoked salmon in them), let's go.

There's a William Gibson quote which I didn't really understand until maybe 10 years ago.

"And, for an instant, she stared directly into those soft blue eyes and knew, with an instinctive mammalian certainty, that the exceedingly rich were no longer even remotely human."
You can look at the Epstein files and conclude that only bad people have billions of dollars, but I think it’s also possible that having billions of dollars cauterizes your humanity

Mine looks really nice now and runs through several parks. But when I was a kid, it was basically dead and full of garbage, smelled like chemicals and sewage.

Bonus points to anyone not Polish who can pronounce the name - Przemsza. 🙃

Every company is so terrified of becoming the next Instant Pot (a reliable product people buy only once and use happily for years, killing future sales after market saturation) that they would rather kill a product, or make constantly "improved" broken garbage you have to keep paying for forever.
Called and spoke with Adobe customer support and the guy told me Adobe is discontinuing Animate because apparently the company can't think of any new features to add to the program and they feel it's gotten stale.

So they're just GETTING RID OF IT???

Excellent thread!
In celebration of the imminent Blades ‘68 campaign, I thought I’d talk a bit about its graphic design.

BUT FIRST let’s compare and contrast with the graphic design of Blades in the Dark, a landmark in the history of RPG layout.

Type nerdery ahoy 🧐

I studied three different things and didn't finish any of them, so it's a VERY weird combo

1. Sculpture
2. History of Urbanism
3. Sociology of Organized Crime
4. Intro to Statistical Data Analysis
5. Intro to Spanish Literature
1. Crime Fiction in Film & Literature
2. Blaxploitation
3. Art of the Weimar Republic
4. Hammer Horror
5. The Counterculture of Design

It was a weird degree.
Never mind jobs you had, tell me five classes you took at university

1. Protein folding
2. Bacterial genetics
3. Statistics for biologists
4. Medical virology
5. Parasitology

These are beautiful, go check out Pam's shop.

I wish shipping to the EU was not prohibitively expensive right now (200% of the price of the item for me). 😟 I used to order so many small weird things from the US, but I can't justify the shipping costs now, unless it's a major purchase.
I've discounted all my calendars, even if January is basically over you can still use the calendar page as a postcard and have 11 other months to use the rest of it

pamwishbow.com

Also I put a bunch of new painted wood banners up if you missed the chance last month

One reason the US is so utterly fucked now, and the reason why there are so many butthurt replies to this post is the same.

That so many of you firmly believe that you, YOU specifically, are the most special and unique individual, not like other girls, and it all doesn't apply to you.
Important perspective from Greenland.

Holy shit, I just remembered I own a Pearl Jam Fan Club Christmas Single from 2001. Never played.

It's 2001, so it's a "fuck George Bush" record.

I'm making vacation plans for the year, and my notes are:
- Scotland in July is Full Of Bugs
- you need an Electronic Travel Authorisation to enter the UK now
- Hackney is kinda hipster these days?
- eclipse in Iceland sounds amazing BUT "75% chance of full cloud cover" doesn't and also EXPENSIVE af

I felt like making some art last night/today and could have made something beautiful and/or meaningful but I made this instead.

It's a Barbie Yaga Malibu Dream Hut.

No regrets. Can't defeat fascism without joy.

I just bought a record player as a new year gift for myself. It will get here on Monday or Tuesday and I'm super excited.

Anyone got good recommendations for albums that are REALLY worth getting on vinyl? Especially older or more niche stuff, I don't need to be told to get Dark Side of the Moon. 😉
