Mundane observations.
I don't know why, but Jamaican crime classic The Harder They Come (1972) being advertised with line “Infinitely more intelligent than Last Tango in Paris” is hilarious to me.

Late to the party, but I finally saw Eddington (2025), and to my surprise I liked it very much! Then again, the reason why I am late to party in the first place is everyone telling me how lame it is.

I remember seeing that scene in a TV ad for the movie as a kid and thinking it was the coolest, craziest, most unbelievable thing ever.

And then my parents wouldn't allow me see the movie.

It might be moving, but it is confusing. I've seen that movie half a dozen times, and I still don't know who the real Spartacus is. And that is what makes that movie a classic "whodunit"

Well, yes. I'd argue it's not him that is explicitly conservative, not in a traditional sense at least, as much as he is appealing to conservatives. As well as some liberals.

Trying to create a "liberal" version of him is starting from the end result and skipping over all the steps that led to it.

Joe Rogan is Joe Rogan because of his non-critical approach to everything. He brings almost everyone to his podcast, no matter how wacky, dumb or toxic. Along with a number of "normal" guests that gives him a dose of legitimacy.

There is no "liberal" framework though which this can be done.
