Earlier the government argued the 10 days of missing footage had been "irretrievably destroyed," then it argued it was lost in a "system crash." Now it says that the footage never existed at all and is therefore not "missing" and they cannot be held liable

Was wondering when we'd start talking about how expensive it is to shit on everyone's rights.
Congressional Budget Office: “Federal troop deployments to US cities cost a total of $496 million in 2025, CBO estimates. Continuing current deployments will cost $93 million a month; 1,000 Guard personnel deployed to a city will cost at least $18 million a month.” www.cbo.gov/publication/...

ICE isn’t just targeting the Twin Cities. There’s horror stories in Mankato, Willmar and across Minnesota. Immigration attorneys are still getting hundreds of calls every day from every corner of the state.

ICE out now.

I support cleaning house at DHS.

Greg Bovino should be fired.
Kristi Noem should be fired.
Stephen Miller should be fired.

But none of those things alone will fix ICE – a new figure will take their place, and nothing will change unless Congress exerts some muscle here.

"'An ICE watch works by surrounding these people- who will only engage in violence if they can get approval- with disapproval.' By this analysis, just the act of observing is a worthy goal, even if nothing occurs. ...the triumph of passive-aggression, an ideal MN tactic."

Qualified immunity isn't the problem if you can't even sue federal agents in the first place. That would require codifying Bivens first.
Congress is not powerless. Democrats must unify around an actual agenda.

1. Vote no on DHS funding bill.

2. Repeal the multi-year $75 billion funding for ICE.

3. End qualified immunity for ICE agents.

4. Investigate and prosecute every single ICE agent who broke the law.

Attorney General Pam Bondi sent a letter to Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota urging the state to hand over voters’ private data to “bring back law and order.” The idea of the federal government obtaining states’ private voter information has been long seen as an overreach. Here's what to know.
Why Is the Trump Administration Demanding Minnesota’s Voter Rolls?
The Justice Department has urged Minnesota to hand over voters’ private data. It is part of a national push that has raised concerns about the Trump administration’s motives.
