these people make a stink over mediocre people receiving mediocre grades constantly and are not worth engaging with, but i will say one thing: the paper she wrote was worse than a lot of the LLM ones i've received in my time grading which is embarassing to say the least

I don't follow many large streamers. There's a couple over 50k who I watch from time to time (Manda's art streams are my happy place, for example) but I really have no care for most of them. Every time another streamer gets outed as a piece of shit, I truly do not know who they are.

The main thing that's annoying and offensive about this is it's usually not framed as simply a factual observation about all the obvious hurdles, as if anybody needs reminding. It's how it's said in a mood of cynical, condescending hostility to even advocating for accountability. Ditto impeachment.
While this usually isn't the intent, "no one will ever be held accountable for this" doomerism is an excuse not to try.
There'll be at least some accountability if enough Americans work for it. And this time really is different. Doesn't guarantee the aftermath will be, but it increases the chances.

The weakness of Democratic (and lowercase-d democratic) rhetoric right now isn't, in general, that it lacks "we'll fight!" They say that a lot. It feels like insipid weak tea because it's so rarely followed up with specific goals and methods, what you intend to actually do in the face of the crisis.

You know? I agree that “A Day Without a Mexican” doesn’t excel on production level,
but the critique of it being heavy handed is funny to me as people really undervalued US Latinos then and still don’t understand US Latinos now,
