In light of Trump's duplicity and collusion with Russian aggression, more towns should add the flag of Ukraine to their municipal displays, imho.
Took this photo this morning on the lawn of the Municipal Building in my little town of Maplewood, NJ, showing the Ukrainian flag (which has been displayed for the past three years in support). As I left, I passed a woman who told me, “I’m here to take the same picture.”
I live in a great town.

I can't imagine dedicating my academic career to making bad faith, historically illiterate arguments that people born in America are not citizens.
Three generations of law professors making history up is enough.

Scholars spend decades researching and writing history with nuance and care.

American law professors will take a couple of months to relearn all of science to explain why the world is, in fact, flat.

Experiment in "Conservative Intellectual Education" gives short shrift to math and science.

Not that anyone would be surprised by that.
this is my favorite part, tho, because it's barely even about ideology at all

everyone at UATX was so focused on their complaints about the humanities that they forgot to hire anyone in math or science

If anyone was still pretending this isn’t just about excluding trans kids from public life, the Trump administration just opened a Title IX investigation into a Maine school district because a trans student is on a *co-ed* cheerleading squad.

At one point today, there were 283 Minnesota attorneys doing a training on how to file emergency habeas petitions to keep our neighbors from being shipped out of state and held indefinitely.

That would be the second largest law firm in the state. And that training was just put together this week.

Great new stuff going on in the Old Dominion!
Virginia's legislative session only started yesterday, and it was a very big day.

The House already passed four constitutional amendments on Day 1:
—protect abortion rights
—repeal the same-sex marriage ban
—allow mid-decade redistricting
—greatly expand voting rights restoration.

Next: Senate.

“Trump’s word is good enough for me” is something said by someone who’s either lying or has no sense of reality.
CAIN: Trump came at you hard the other day, saying you "should never be elected to office again." You changed your vote on war powers after that. Why?

JOSH HAWLEY: I talked to the president and secretary of state and he said we're not gonna occupy Venezuela, and that's good enough for me

Trump’s “War On Fighting Substance Abuse” is as stupid and cruel as that accurate description makes it sound.
NEW: Last night, the Trump administration made huge DOGE-like cuts to the grants from the federal agency that works on substance abuse and mental health issues. (Mind you, this is an agency for which the administration already cut the staff in half last year.)

Mike Johnson is famous for “not seeing” a lot of Trump’s outrages. Now he “sees” what’s not there because Trump told him to see it.
Mike Johnson on Renee Good: "This woman was taunting ICE officers. She was impeding law enforcement. She was violating a number of laws. They were very patient ... what I saw was she hit the accelerator and hit the ICE officer and he reacted in a split second."

Good choice to put a sign identifying Trump’s Rose Garden as “The Rose Garden”.

It’s almost unrecognizable since its “Mar-a-Lago Makeover”, just as many people are.
The White House has added a new sign above the Rose Garden reading “The Rose Garden.”
