Again, I remain mostly vexed as to why, rather than viewing this as a geopolitical crisis worthy of a new Cold War, we don't also take advantage of this 🇨🇳 overproduction by exchanging other goods/services with them to raise our own standard of living & fight climate change.

Trump has done so much damage to democratic institutions not via clever, well executed strategy, but by acting on authoritarian/bigoted/corrupt impulse, then stubbornly barging ahead if he meets pushback.

Manufacturing charges against Abrego Garcia only after deportation failed is a good microcosm.
Newly unsealed docs show DOJ moved to prosecute Kilmar Abrego Garcia for smuggling only after it became clear Trump might not be able to deport him. Sure looks driven by a desire to punish him for fighting back against Trump/Miller lawlessness. Trump had to be right.

Delroy Lindo is on a long list of actors long overdue for an Oscar nomination. He might finally break that ceiling with his role in Sinners. We caught up to talk about Ryan Coogler's "brilliant" epic, and, as always, he has some keen observations to share

Delroy Lindo already deserved an Oscar nomination. He might finally get one for his role as Delta Slim in Ryan Coogler's Sinners.

This is really my point. Clued in voters like most on here knew he would terrorize more than gang members. But what Trump explicitly campaigned on was going after the “worst of the worst” and that was obviously a lie. God forbid the media call that lie a lie. Many didn’t *think* they voted for this.
Trump campaigned on "securing" the border and deporting "criminals," purported policies that were broadly popular among voters - including among many Latinos - until they learned that was a campaign promise was a lie - and that Trumpers were actually virulent, and racist, xenophobes, ... 2/
Analysis: Trump made big gains with Latino voters in 2024. Now they’re up for grabs again | CNN Politics
The rapid erosion of President Donald Trump’s support among Latinos underscores how this growing group is poised to become the largest bloc of movable voters in the electorate.

Law & Order Republicans are the party of Bribes & Pardons
Still mind-blowing that a top admin official was revealed to have taken $50,000 in cash in a paper bag from people looking for government favors, the reaction of the administration was "Whatever losers, this is how it works now" and bigshot news media said "If you say so, we'll forget about it"
Border czar Tom Homan didn't receive a normal background check for his role while his bribery probe was still ongoing:

Justice officials felt sure Homan would not be able to obtain a security clearance based on the evidence gathered. It remains unclear how Homan was eventually granted clearance.

Maybe 15 years ago I was in Western Massachusetts with a partner who wanted to check out the Norman Rockwell Museum. I only knew of Rockwell as 1950s kitsch and had low expectations. As it happened, we showed up while an exhibit on Rockwell's Civil Rights legacy was on display. Blew my mind.

Palantir's Alex Karp loves to be introduced as a "former progressive" who found the way to love MAGA. In fact, he obsessed over Nazis from the time he was a secondary school student and was described by his friends as a "fascist," which is exactly what he is. It helped him bond with Thiel.
Wait till you read how he was fucking hired

The first time I searched Trump, there were over 900 records found.

I also confirmed there are now 332.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.
