The Calvinball & obsession about Suffering From Inflation™️ all just kind of disappeared after January 20. No one could possibly have predicted.
It's interesting* to me that we don't hear about how voters only care about & not anymore, or how the whole "felt inflation" thing (bsky.app/profile/mcop...) disappeared into the ether after the election. It's almost as if it all really was Calvinball:

(*it's really not)

One of the most grotesque ironies: During the occupation of Czechoslovakia the Nazis dug a pit in Dablice where they dumped the bodies of resistance members they murdered. After 1948 the communists then dumped the bodies of their victims into the exact same pit. Which is why there are 2 memorials:

I know an elderly Trump voter who has the young gay couple - who fly a pride flag! - across the street catsit for her! But she thinks they're the exception, not the rule, bc most gays are just shoving their sexuality in your face all the time with their leather outfits at their pride parades.
This is incredibly sad.

Tedious to point this out, but:

- When a tongue-tied Biden said "President of Mexico" instead of "Prez of Egypt," it was a several day story.

-Hours after Trump says whoever appointed J Powell made a big mistake (it was him), the episode appears not to merit a story on any national-media sites.

When I first met Matt Drudge 27-1/2 years ago, I thought he had better news judgment than half the nation’s editors combined. I now think the figure is probably more like 95%.

The extent to which WWI or WWII performed an audit of contemporary (European) human health is undersold. There are very few unflinching checkpoints. Data is broadly horrible. This was pretty good.

They did it. Shit was Bad.

There is no glorious past. They were stunted and starving and underweight.
