This- when the president of the US is blatantly, loudly, vocally racist and anti-Black, it's not 'a matter of moral etiquette' but rather a concerted, pointed, violent attack against Black people from the highest seat/office in the country in the most powerful country in the world. All this in BHM
in the elite circles of the US, racism is treated less as a matter of social stratification with direct implications for political stakes and more as a matter of moral etiquette. it is even more notable, then, that this administration can't constrain themselves to the meager associated standards

And even after the Exhonerated Five (as the Central Park Five are now known) were exhonerated of all the charges, the Orange Mirror still believes they're guilty.
Donald Trump in 1989 took out a full page ad in the New York Times calling for the execution of five teenagers. He said they looked guilty. He said in his ad "I want to hate the[m] and I always will. ... I want them to be afraid."

All five were innocent of any crime.

All five were Black or Latino.

Can't damage something that's never existed in this country.
The damage to our democracy that she has been an accomplice to may be irreparable.

But, yeah Suzie, keep taking credit for the scraps they would'a tossed us anyway.

Duplicity in all it's stupefying glory. SMFH

The Border Patrol Is the Problem. It Always Has Been

The violence, racial profiling and disregard for the Constitution that have burst into public view in Minneapolis are not new or unusual for the Border Patrol ..
"If you are uncomfortable with what the Border Patrol is doing in Minneapolis, you are uncomfortable with the Border Patrol, full stop."
Shocking but not really surprising. Horrific from way back.

Swear to god, ICE could just announce they're leaving a city but not leave and the media will just stop covering that city completely even though ICE never left.

It's what ICE and the media did with LA and they're doing it with Minneapolis too

Abolishing DHS, which was created under the Bush administration alongside ICE and Customs and Border Protection, has long been an idea championed by much of the left. Many advocates have reupped their calls for the abolition of DHS in recent weeks.

House Democrat Says Abolishing ICE Isn’t Enough — DHS Must Go, Too
“The problem isn’t ‘training.’ DHS was built to violate our rights,” said Rep. Delia C. Ramirez.

I think it's important to keep in mind that (1) all of these people are rich and (2) sex work is legal and regulated in some nations. If this were about sex, any one of those people could have booked a lovely vacation in Amsterdam and quietly enjoyed themselves.

I don't believe for one moment that Melania was a victim. I believe she was an adult sex worker who chose to overlook the villainy and child abuse around her in order to benefit financially.
I seem to recall a moment on the other place when a cadre of (white) feminists wagged their fingers at people for thinking Melania is an agentic adult who chose this life. We were supposed to understand that she is a *victim*. Anyway, I’m old.

By now publications like The New York Times and The Atlantic should be seen as willing and eager participants in a nationwide pedophiliac Nazi cabal, and those who remain working there should question how assisting these propaganda machines differs in any way from working directly for Trump or Musk.

in exchange for asking them nicely to try and not wear masks anymore, the democrats agree to fund ICE while they build concentration camps.

"shut the entire government down" is not a radical position. it is the bare minimum.
BIG news from @bloomberg.com, which confirms that ICE has gone ahead and *purchased* multiple commercial warehouses with the aim of converting them into mass detention camps.

This is likely to be the big detention story of 2026 — literal warehousing of people.
