Last few months have been crazy, and the next few months will be even crazier. But I hope for the best by the end of this year.

Why did the American audience apparently hear different audio of JD Vance's appearance at the Olympics than the audio heard by the rest of the world?

NBC denies muting. But it's part of overall disturbing developments in the US corporate media world.
The world heard JD Vance being booed at the Olympics. Except for viewers in the US | Bryan Armen Graham
The real risk for American broadcasters is not that dissent will be visible. It is that audiences will start assuming anything they do not show is being hidden

Reminds me so much about working (still) in Thailand.
Oh, a worker is pregnant? Too bad, she works at a "private" school bankrolled by the government. 45 days no pay, and we'll explicitly tell you we don't care about the law.
Every month? An arbitrary "funeral fee" is taken out of the paycheck.
Want to take a sick day, even at a private firm? Better bring a *written doctor's note* excusing you like you're a kid, or you'll not only not get that sick day, you'll get fined anywhere up to three days worth of salary. (In general, arbitrary fines from employers are very common)

Thailand, and others in the SEA have this unfortunate reality where there's zero enforcement of labor laws and few implications for egregious violations.
I am not surprised there is a demographic crisis when employers, in general, refuse to allow maternity leave. No doubt it will never change.

One thing on the internet I don't mind is tone policing. I think we all can get a bit neurotic at times and need someone to grab our shoulder and tell us to calm down.

American Samoans, unique among *everyone* born in US states or territories, are denied US citizenship.

That means they are banned from voting.

That's made some a target of vicious GOP prosecution for fraud; even if they were told incorrect info from public officials.

This is one of the best articles, and one of the only ones, on this topic.
Working in this field now, it's crazy how much this is the norm [especially to Filipinos across the SEA]. One day, I hope the country where I currently work gets an amazing story like this one.
If you work in or are interested in education, do give this a read. This investigation is about morals, money and misogyny (at an elite British institution famed for its feminist heritage) and several brave sources risked their careers to speak openly with us: on.ft.com/3XQUqDD @antoniacundy.ft.com

I've seen praise for this.
But the article either omits, the authors don't know, or lies about how RTGs & plutonium work.
The plutonium leakage risk was heavy-metal poisoning, not radiation. Unless Singh was butt-naked standing over the battery, not "nuclear device", it didn't kill him.
How Did the C.I.A. Lose a Nuclear Device in the Himalayas?
A plutonium-packed generator disappeared on one of the world’s highest mountains in a covert mission that the U.S. will not talk about.

Every time there's a border dispute between Thailand & Cambodia, orgs like CNN say, "They traded fire and blamed the other side."
So Cambodia prepped for months their tape leak/land grab & you're still giving credence? The same dictator who personally harasses exiles in Australia with phone calls?

One YouTuber has a good 50% of his videos/streams being the repetition, or full-on viewing news media & banks over $35 million. Before sponsors.
Same YTer above says "don't trust journos" then...uses local news feeds to get content.
it gets your work out there more, I guess, maybe. But so many people on these massive platforms think “journalism” and “reporting” is “I’m reading someone else’s article out loud”
