It's #DryJanuary, so let's take a moment to talk about vaginal dryness. This vaginal health condition is *incredibly* common, but surrounded by shame. It's normal, and it's *very* treatable.

My great grandma had scars from her residential school until the day she died. To this day I have *no idea* about any of her heritage or culture because they successfully beat the shit out of her until she was too afraid to tell anyone.

An awful crime against humanity. Fuck Brian Lilley's lies.

It is hate speech.

this is the messaging that welcomes people into a movement

not scoldy shit that causes division, but "welcome to your newly awakened humanity, we're glad to have you, now let's do the hard work together"
Remembering today that having your heart broken is a necessary step on the path to becoming fully human. Whichever heartbreak is your first, it’s probably critical that a state break your heart so that you can develop a political imagination. If this is your first, I’m sorry and also welcome.

If you took the most popular police procedural TV shows, and totaled up all the times that officers shot into vehicles as drivers tried to drive away, how many times would that be? Like, shooting after fleeing suspects who haven't shot at them. How often is it even mentioned, let alone any review?

While banning speed cameras was a major mistake by the Province, there's much more we can do to make our streets safer.

Engineering—such as narrowing—is one of the most effective. #Ottawa #OttCity #SafeStreets

How many homes?
Since I spoke at last year's event, we launched the Housing Innovation Task Force and delivered Ottawa's Housing Action Plan with 53 concrete measures. We're cutting red tape. We're speeding up approvals. We're cutting and deferring fees. We're striving to be the most housing friendly city in Canada

Well, if the first two pick ups of the year for Doug's new waste collectors are any indication, I think Ontario residents will be emailing the company regularly to complain about bins in the middle of the sidewalk, or missing.

9 am and a very warm winter day. Yet 2 switch issues and one stopped train already. 2 of 3 LRT lines impacted. #OttPoli

Someone on the eastern side of the city heading to south end early probably hit both LRT disruptions today. Line 1 to Lyon, switch trains to Bayview, slow train to Carleton or maybe long wait then R2 to Carleton, then take the train farther south.

With snow forecast to fall in the high areas of the county, Oxfordshire schools are being asked to use a secret codeword when deciding weather-related closures, to prevent prankster children emailing the County Council claiming that their school is closed.

@glengower.ca The OCTranspo leadership needs to plot the stopped trains on a track heat map. They are not randomly distributed. That implies it's a track issue not an axle issue. So what is RTM doing to fix the issues.

Not all issues can wait until the annual June maintenance closure. #OttPoli
UPDATE: 🚇Line 1 Alert: Due to a stopped train,
⚠️ Service is operating on the eastbound platforms only at the following stations:
➡️ Lyon, Pimisi, Bayview and Tunney's
➡️ Change trains at Lyon

Please listen to on-board and station announcements for more information.

Did switches on line 2 and 4 get design adjustments after Line 1 inquiry? Are they all gas heated? Are they all easy to access for technicians?

In the first year, there have been so many switch related disruptions like this morning's when it isn't even cold. #OttPoli

I don’t find it productive to shame people for ‘showing up late’ wrt to social awareness. We all show up when we show up. But I strongly encourage new people who show up to do so while assuming a listening posture. I promise, we’ve heard your ideas & opinions before, back when we were less informed.
