If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

Isn't a huge part of this the fact that @pitchfork.com "grading system" is extremely flawed, in that everyone reading the reviews and being reviewed grew up with a similar school grading scale (except it was 100 that was perfect rather than 10) and a 6.6 makes us think of 66%, which is an F? Maybe?
A few months ago Indigo De Souza called Pitchfork “internet bullies” over a 6.6 review of her new album and asked her fans to tell the publication it was “whack”: “why not ONLY write reviews about art you LIKE?”

Last night she wore a shirt featuring the review onstage at Pitchfork Music Festival.
Indigo De Souza Played Pitchfork Fest In A Shirt Featuring Their 6.6 Review Of Her Album
Indigo De Souza released her new latest album Precipice back in July, and some drama ensued shortly thereafter. Stereogum contributor Grace Robins-Somerville reviewed it for Pitchfork and gave it a 6....

We’re currently seeing the unraveling of our democracy at the hands of the ultra-rich and led by a bumbling demented want-to-be tyrant and all over the internet, his followers are like “buckle up, cuz NYC is over now” in response to Mamdani’s win. The utter blindness to reality is stark.

When there's absolutely no risk with listening to an artist's music, as there's no purchase that needs to be made, what is the critic's role if it used to be to protect consumers? And maybe we're getting better at understanding artists' vision and not judging it against an arbitrary set of criteria.
Music critics have gotten awfully nice lately. A little too nice, according to Wesley Morris. On “Cannonball,” Wesley invites The New Yorker critic Kelefa Sanneh to discuss how pop music criticism has lost its edge. nyti.ms/3WKVsjV

This was a packed Hillsboro City Council meeting — at least 3 hours long. Residents demand: stop ICE collab, aid for immigrant families, end Flock surveillance, and hold police accountable.

This community, about 30 minutes west of Portland, is living in fear!
Devastating— “I’m afraid for my parents to leave the house. They treat us like dogs because of the color of our skin. I shouldn’t be scared, I should be focusing on school.”

A 16yo American living in fear of the Trump regime’s ICE goons terrorizing brown people pleads for help.

Donna's vocals on these small-venue 1976 shows are exquisite. The Wheel, Mission in the Rain, Music Never Stopped, Dancin' in the Street, Looks Like Rain - some of the best live harmonies the Dead ever pulled off came from this era thanks to her. youtu.be/Nh6UssjmGx8?...

Q: What does it say that president released a video of him pooping on the American people?
