Another one is: a producer who got entirely sucked into the directors' concerns/internal wars and completely lost sight of what the dev teams actually need, beginning to see the team as inherently antagonistic by virtue of needing any type of information at all or wanting any kind of basic advocacy.
Another hellworld producer: a person who believes their subjective opinion on qualitative matters is more important than the ICs doing the work / on par with discipline leads.

Another hellworld producer: a person who micromanages IC schedules like a guard monitoring a prison yard.

We build to 4K resolutions, but it's always worth a reminder that the majority of players on Steam still use 1080p.

Here's what a hellworld producer is: a person who believes in one true methodology to structuring projects and insists on compressing that template onto the dev team regardless of efficacy or how the team feels about it.

You'll get different definitions at different studios but here's mine: a person who helps individual contributors (ICs) and leads work with each other to make workflows better/easier/[Radiohead voice] more productive. They should be like oil: reducing friction and energy required to get things done.
what exactly is a producer's job as someone vaguely and cautiously interested in game development as a job? I honestly assumed it was just another word for director

When I try to explain to people that investors are generally very, very stupid people this is what I mean.
Video game stocks are suddenly crashing today with the launch of Google's Project Genie as investors think games will start magically getting made with AI

I think most game dev teams underestimate how damaging slow workflows are to the ultimate quality of their game.

If it takes 5 minutes to launch the game and see your changes, I think your game is going to be MUCH worse than the alternate timeline where it took 1 minute

Testing Godot 4.6 last release candidate and the UI is SLICK

The amount of information packed while still being readable is awesome. The removal of some useless delimiters + the new colors make the editor look very "professional" and elegant

Not sure of the font, but I might grow into it

We’re 17 reviews away from reaching 500 reviews and the "Overwhelmingy Positive" rating on Steam.

If you haven’t left a review yet, it would help so much (link in bio and 👇). Thank you! 🙏 #indiegame

Funny thing - when they announced the PoP remake was dead, my first thought was 'Ah well, at least we have Motorslice soon'.

Seems the Motorslice devs had the same thought.

Thinking about this again for no reason at all

RTO is purely about emotionally stunted manchildren wanting to feel powerful, IMO.

It's the only thing that really adds up for me, because no logical justification exists except in the extreme short-term.
I think every rationale for why capitalists want RTO is post-hoc. Investments, efficiency, big brother-ing employees, etc.

The real reason is an emotional one: physically seeing a group of people who have to pay attention to you and do what you say feels extremely good when you're a sociopath

Do you have a #Godot 4.x game on #Android using Vulkan Mobile?

We recently fixed a number of Vulkan crashes for some mobile GPUs which will be in 4.5.2 and 4.6.

I'd like to figure out if there are more Vulkan crashes in the wild that we can prioritize.
