Imaging Scientist at Harvard Center for Biological Imaging. I help people do cool science. Lover of all

I created a starter pack for Imaging Scientists that work in core facilities.

I'm sure I missed lots of people since I searched for those that have "core" or "facility" in their bios, so let me know who else should be added!

It is always great to see the dissertation of a super user. We often don't see the whole picture of a project in the core.

What's some random autofluorescent stuff that I can find outside that would look cool on a microscope?

Looking for weird samples to highlight some of the instruments in the faciliity

A response to a new story saying Watson didn't credit Franklin. Tells you a lot about how the public sees scientists in general and women scientists in general 😡

So good news, I got a job offer in London! 🎉
Bad news, my husband has applied for 30 positions with no interviews.
If anyone has any connections in London in the information security space, I would be eternally grateful

With SNAP benefits suspended for now, I just donated to my local food bank. If you can, you should consider donating to your local food bank. No one should be going hungry in this day and age

🧠🌟🐭 Excited to share some of my postdoc work on the evolution of dexterity!

We compared deer mice evolved in forest vs prairie habitats. We found that forest mice have:
(1) more corticospinal neurons (CSNs)
(2) better hand dexterity
(3) more dexterous climbing, which is linked to CSN number🧵
