Happy 250th America. Time to face our shit, now that an Epstein tornado has basically smothered and covered everything in an unavoidable layer of it.

Important to understand the Epstein stuff and the fascism and the corruption are, in a lot of ways, really all the same story from different angles: powerful men who can and do abuse vulnerable people around them because they can, and because systems of elite accountability catastrophically failed

Why hello there former US Treasury Secretary, president of Harvard, and director of the National Economic Council Larry Summers.

Sharing with alt so we can all bask in his hidden insights that we are NOT allowed to share.

Still upset about no power of the purse language. You truly do hate to see it. The Trump admin undertook the most expansive set of illegal budgetary actions of any president in history, and broadcast as loudly as possible they’d keep doing it, and nothing. Budgetary lawlessness.

This is Trump / Cassidy plan — and the appropriate response from Democrats is “you’re goddamn right we hate insurance companies, that’s why we’re introducing Medicare For All and calling on Trump to back this plan to destroy the insurance corporations that delay and deny your family’s healthcare”

Oh the FSAs.
The FSAs where you have to pay and get reimbursed.
So you're paying twice.
And have to keep track of receipts and take time to apply.
And assume you'll get the reimbursement from the federal offices they gutted.
And the reimbursement doesn't include the taxes you paid.

Those FSAs?

I swear to god Warnock and Ossoff will find Georgia a very prickly place if they flip on this for nothing.
Ossoff especially needs strong Dem base support next year. Unmotivated Dems on the ground sunk Harris here.
Ossoff voting for the Riley act already has him on thin ice with many strong Dems.
2/ The Senators who want to vote yes on basically any terms appear to be shaheen, Hassan, king and Fetterman. Slightly less clear but I think pushing that way are Peters and Durbin. You’ll note that four of these six are retiring. Others who seem on the fence include the two sens from Georgia and …

Just left voicemails for Senators Ossoff & Warnock. I'll be so upset if we've come this far for nothing!
I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.

It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

TIL... but also, eff them paper people!
So apparently rock paper scissors has become a fascist meme where paper (n*zi salute) beats rock (solidarity fist). From a game design perspective I just want to clarify that scissors (a tool with really sharp edges) beat paper. 🤷🏾

This could be a traumatic read for some people, especially if they or a loved one have experienced birth trauma. But given how reproductive rights are currently being limited in the US, this should be part of the ongoing conversation

Georgia Democrats had not won a statewide race that wasn't for a federal office since 2006.

They won two races tonight, both against GOP incumbents.

The margins? 62% to 38% in both.

Imagine being so dedicated to stealing people's healthcare that you let letters telling them that their premiums were about to spike by 100-500% go out 3 days before an election, while you were also trying to starve 40 million people to bully the other party into letting you steal the healthcare.
