Jeffrey Epstein's crimes came to greater light in November 2018, via Miami Herald series.

Months later, new House Judiciary Chair Jerrold Nadler advocated for wide-ranging, cross-committee investigations into Trump's corruption. Not just Ukraine.

His plan was blocked for months by Nancy Pelosi.

This point absolutely correct and I will add that Mamdani demonstrates that an insurgency, even one with real moral clarity and anger at the status quo, can still be cheerful and inviting.

CNN: Was the shutdown worth it?

HAKEEM JEFFRIES: We have waged a battle on behalf of the American people.

CNN: But you didn't get what you want.

it is pretty darkly funny seeing posts like URGENT!!!! it is SUNDAY EVENING you must PUT DOWN YOUR DINNER and call your senator IMMEDIATELY to politely request they not press the big button marked "fuck you". this will not actually stop them from pressing the fuck you button. functioning democracy

I must say the reaction from liberals on here over the Dems caving on the shutdown feels a little surreal. Like, the last two years were spent with your precious blue team materially supporting a genocide without apology, but them doing airline lobbyists' bidding is what gets you out of your chair?

Dems supporting genocide wasn't a red line for liberals, but apparently Chuck Schumer caving on the shutdown is. The time to demand new leadership was in 2023 when Schumer and Jeffries went to the March for Israel and stood hand-in-hand with Mike Johnson and Ernst, chanting "We stand with Israel."

Do y'all not know what a rotating villain is? Dems have been employing this strategy for decades, and you keep falling for it.

All of this was coordinated and calculated. Dems are the Washington Generals. They lose on purpose. They don't work for you. They work for their donors.
Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.

How many times do you have to see this scenario play out before you understand that the Dems agree with the Republicans? They work for the same people and all of this is performance art designed to trick rubes like you.

Dems aren't incompetent. They're evil. All of this is calculated and malicious.
They are caving in exchange for the pinky promise of doomed vote in 40 days. They have the political instincts of drywall. This is un-fucking-believable.

I just learned that Minnesota advanced past Seattle in the #MLSPlayoffs despite not winning a single one of the three games they played, and being outscored on aggregate

No offense to the Loons and their fans but this is truly the stupidest thing about #MLS, and folks, that is saying something

Sanders: Let’s be clear… If this vote succeeds, over 20 million Americans are going to see at least a doubling in their premiums… if resolution is passed tonight, we are on a path way to throw 15 million Americans off of medicaid and the affordable care act, 15 million.

sure, maybe Mamdani's victory proves that better things are possible, that you don't have to settle for milquetoast centrists, and that the voice of the people still matters, but, even more importantly, it makes all the people you hate very very mad, and that is beautiful
