Ring is a wildly dangerous company. Always has been. But it has sort of flown under the radar the last couple years as it tried to soften its image. Make no mistake that this is an extremely dangerous surveillance dragnet:

Maybe, just maybe, ICE agents shouldn't be running around killing American citizens, throwing kids in jail, torturing people, violating our constitutional rights and destroying the peace and economies of vibrant US citizens. Then, if they stop this stuff, maybe they can keep their masks.
Ricketts: "No face masks -- we're seen a huge increase in attacks on our ICE agents. There's been 180 vehicle attacks. Overall attacks on DHS are up 8,000%. There's many so many doxxings of officers they've had to set up a tip line. This is very very serious."

It's really a symptom of how sick we are as a nation that we accept behavior like this from the President as routine.

Oh no. I had missed this news. Back when I was a complete nobody college student, someone connected me to Dave, and he got me onto his Interesting People mailing list. Later, as I was graduating and figuring out what to do with my life I had emailed him and he gave me really excellent advice. 😢
Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dave Farber. He was a true pioneer who had major influence on the architecture of the Internet and tech policy. Rest in peace to one of the most "Interesting People" our field has ever known. mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/iet...

Our DHS reform demands are exceedingly reasonable.
