The idea of framing this vainglorious billionaire lot as modern day versions of the gritty, hard-bitten, working class, manual laborers who, for a pittance of wages, risked their lives and used their hands to make real the skyscraper dreams of the wealthy and middle classes is….lunacy.
I guess it's fitting that it's a reimagined, worse version of someone else's artwork

W człowieku dojrzałym
cały czas mieszka dziecko
i ono nosi całą prawdę o człowieku -
samotność, doświadczenie opuszczenia,
oczekiwanie uwagi i miłości,
lęk bez powodu -
tutaj zaczyna się mędrzec,
wielki polityk, zwykły człowiek, każdy.

At some point we are going to have to deal with the uncomfortable truth that there is a genuine lack of research into the impact of environmental exposures on chronic disease, and that has been a major factor driving formerly reasonable people into the antivax, raw milk, beef tallow wellness cults.
Scientists Thought Parkinson’s Was in Our Genes. It Might Be in the Water
New ideas about chronic illness could revolutionize treatment, if we take the research seriously.

After MTG lied about me for weeks, she said that she felt bad for my unborn child because he'd have me as a mother. Her rhetoric led to threats against my family.

No one, even her, should receive threats like those, but I'd like to see her own up to the role she played in creating them for others.
Marjorie Taylor Greene: "I sent those deaths threats directly to him in a text message & informed him of what his name calling & words were doing - it was a direct assassination threat on my son. And he was extremely - I won't repeat what he said - but it was extremely unkind. No sympathy. No care"

I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.

This is true of basically every trad wife you’ve heard of. They are not trad wives. They reap the benefits that feminism has won for them and then they grift off pretending to be trad. Women who actually follow their supposed ideals suffer in silence

The reality, of course, is that Miller and a significant portion of Trump’s base are the ones who failed to assimilate to America’s post-WWII culture of multi-racial democracy & religious pluralism…and they are now using their power to destroy that once dominant (and still popular) American culture.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

The "DOGE is gone" articles are clickbait but this one gets it closer to the truth: DOGE is not gone, it just claims to have "no centralized leadership" anymore -- in other words, its leadership is hiding in an attempt to avoid blame.
DOGE no longer has ‘centralized leadership’ under White House tech team, personnel head says
The team that was altered to house DOGE — formerly the U.S. Digital Service — is also still doing its own technology work across agencies.

It's weird to not only have lived through an information revolution but also now living through its undoing, all within less than a generation.
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

DOGE was always a very thinly disguised con to dress up data theft and extraction class destruction of federal corporate oversight as innovative, and it's important to remember that part of the reason it worked so well is that the press helped legitimize it
