Indeed. I just hate that we’re in a timeline in which support and empathy for marginalised groups is deemed extreme while hatred and disdain for those same groups garners support and air time on political/news programmes

Amazing turnout despite the dreich weather for @edinburghgreens.bsky.social doorknocking around Leith & Newhaven today.

Lots of folk dissillusioned with governments at Holyrood & Westminster and warm to the positive message of the Greens.

Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

The BBC must take a stand against Israel's war crimes and join the growing boycott of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Russia and Belarus were rightly excluded following the illegal invasion of Ukraine. Why do the European broadcasters believe that Palestinian lives are worth less?

Since 1948, in the wake of horrific atrocities, the world has marked December 10 as Human Rights Day.

It recognises the moment when countries united to adopt the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Here's how Keir Starmer is celebrating Human Rights Day 2025:

🐦‍⬛Greens secure ‘swift bricks’ on new buildings!

💚This is a great day for Scotland’s birds.

I am delighted that MSPs from across different parties have backed this small and simple step for nature.

It is unfortunate that the UK government has opposed similar moves in England.
Swifts are in serious decline, with their UK population falling by 66% since 1995.

Moments ago MSPs backed our amendment to install low cost swift nesting bricks in new buildings.

This small act will make our communities more liveable for birds and help swifts recover.

I spoke in Parliament today to challenge the misinformation from those claiming this tribunal as a 'win' for the anti-trans agenda.

In fact it found Ms Peggie harassed a colleague for being trans, and it dismissed almost all her claims.

It also found that trans segregation is not supported in law.
We've written & published a short summary statement regarding the Sandie Peggie V NHS Fife Health Board employment tribunal case & the judgment given yesterday. Much of the media coverage has missed key information, the most important aspect being that all claims against Dr Beth Upton were dismissed

Welcome to John and Ross! 💚

With a Labour government looking more and more like the Tories every day and the SNP dropping progressive commitments all over the place, there has never been a more crucial moment for strong Green voices in town halls across our country.
🚨BREAKING

We are delighted to welcome TWO left-wing independent councillors to the Scottish Greens!

This is a movement dedicated to delivering eco-socialist change for people and planet across Scotland.

I will continue to spend every day trying my very best to serve the people of Sighthill/Gorgie.

Again, the illegality of firing on shipwrecked mariners is so absurdly well established that it is used in the manual training material as the example of an order *so obviously illegal* that no further information would be required for a servicemember to be obligated to refuse it.

Reform in Scotland have pushed islamophobia during a by-election, advocated concentration camps for asylum seekers, and now a blatantly racist attack on Glasgow's schoolchildren.

Everyone who believes in equality, human rights and democracy must recognise this threat for what it is: fascism.

It's also: you don't know who is going to become what. A society more confident in itself would believe a little bit more in its ability to make anyone thrive and give back.
My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
This is so disgusting.

Eurovision should be something joyful, uplifting, and innocently silly.

It cannot be that while accepting a genocidal state as a participant.

The UK should join other countries with backbones, and withdraw.
Once a symbol of unity and hope across Europe, the Eurovision Song Contest has been turned into a pink-washing front for war criminals in Israel.

After today's decision, there must be a global boycott of Eurovision.
