This is actually really, really good.

I've seen a few people understandably respond to this with complaints about poor treatment they have received from doctors. But as the doctor's union, the BMA is an ideal group to argue for better from the profession and from the NHS.

For too long, trans people have languished on dangerously long waiting lists which, in some cases, now involve more than a decade of waiting for care. Things don’t have to be this way.

ICYMI: Leading UK mental health charities wrote to the UK Minister for Equalities, Bridget Phillipson MP, to highlight their concerns that the EHRC’s proposed Code of Practice for Services would have a hugely negative impact on trans people’s mental health.

Over the weekend, details were provided about the research trial for prescribing puberty blockers to trans children and young people. Taking part in this research will be the only way to access puberty blockers on the NHS.
