Some of your plebes believe Shakespeare’s meaning behind hamlet is a warning about the self destructive inevitability about revenge.

The problem people identify with capitalism is literally in the legal formation of C corps where boards can actually be sued by shareholders holders for doing the right thing.

The only true metric is shareholder value/fiduciary duty
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Rewatching Star Trek DS9 with my wife for the first time and finally got to “Far Beyond the Stars” the episode where Sisko is a black SFF writer in 1950’s New York.

Nothing more depressing about the state of Star Trek that it was braver in 1998 than it has been in the 2010’s and 20’s

I learned to read on Calvin and Hobbes. It is hard wired into me.

In terms of lit, reading “Wind up bird chronicles” when I was a little depressed and lonely in Beijing changed what I thought you could do with narrative.
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

Going out has gotten increasingly expensive.
Give people fun spaces to create a community that doesn’t cost money!

Before it was taken over by the soho house style fitness industry, pickleball initially became popular because it was cheap fun to do with friends
ah, perhaps instead of pumping millions into endless factional infighting Dem donors could invest in making local Dem organizations genuine civic spaces that can reach people during and between elections
