I'd rather die than live under their boot. No doubt many of them are willing to kill in order to put us there, but how many of them would be willing to die to do it?
"Who wants it more?" is by no means the only question, but it is a fundamental one.

There’s a whole mass of people who have a psychological need to write off anyone with power as corrupt in order to justify their own disengagement.

This No Kings Day, The UnPopulist Launches ‘The Reconstruction Agenda’
Liberals need to start planning for a post-authoritarian future and rebuilding stronger institutions that a rogue president can’t so easily take over and weaponize again

And of course it's not just the youths. I'm officially Losing My Dad to Phone, and TikTok is the prime offender. He spent most of the last family thing listening to garbage rw tiktoks on speaker and wouldn't put it down to come eat. Just sat there scrolling while his food got cold. Shit's awful, man
Lindsay, the entire reason far-right control of TikTok is bad is because I WAS RIGHT ABOUT IT CONTROLLING YOUR BRAIN. If you’ll recall, that used to be a controversial position! I got ratioed like crazy in like 2022 for saying the youths were getting their politics from the meme dance app
Congrats to Biden, the rest of the Democrats who supported the TikTok ban last year, and this guy specifically—they got what they wanted.
Draconian censorship was necessary because the kids were pro-Palestine and struggling in Biden’s economy. And now—an even more concentrated media environment.
