back on twitter I used to maintain a dictionary of novel phrases I've seen emerge on tiktok. I think I'll start a new one here:
there's actually a persistent problem in a lot of charity/activism work that people approach it like a hobby and want to do a version that feels personally fulfilling instead of what's efficient for meeting the goal, like people always wanna knit socks for homeless people instead of just buying some

I think what is going to happen is that lab-grown meat will gradually catch up with real animals and when that happens we will all quietly admit that the vegans were right about factory farming
i'm convinced if we ever tried to touch the rail of meat politics in America (something that's going to eventually need to happen in order to reduce CO2 emissions), it would lead to a huge right-wing shock

So there's this thing called the Exeter Book, it's a codex from 1072 that's basically some rich guy's mixtape of Old English poetry. The interesting thing is it's heavily water damaged in the back half so the closer you get to the end of the book the more and more of each page is just missing

Well it was an amazing World Series and a reminder that baseball despite its faults is probably the greatest sport invented by man, and also I hope all Dodgers fans are stricken with painful sores and tumors, and cast into hellfire, for eternity
