“If they broke the law there can be no engineering issue” is in a nutshell what’s wrong with the field
Drivers routinely speed down Sligo Ave through East Silver Spring (where I live) despite the high volume of pedestrians, due to a lack of stops and traffic calming elements.

NEW: Sean Duffy frequently calls safety his “top priority” as transportation secretary. But I spent months wading through regulatory notices and found something far different: that USDOT has been delaying, weakening and killing dozens of safety rules, many opposed by the transportation industry.🧵

A mess to think about, and a mess to measure.
The Worst Statistic: Recidivism

Who could have predicted? (Anybody)
Obviously, we want more immigrants, it’s one of our founding principals, but we also don’t want things to happen that will set support for more immigration back in the long term

All that said, Twitter only allows editing in the 1st hour, so not easily done.

The amazing folks at the WSDOT Active Transportation Division have released their 'quick build guide' - which includes at least a dozen quick-build projects as case studies across Washington State. This is great reading for sickos and local governments alike!

we're getting nonstop ads for this while watching S3 of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives
There's also one boss that is a giant version of one of your squadmates/imaginary friends that vomits red smoke at you and has you do MMO raid mechanics (like jumping to avoid getting hit by the shockwave when he slams the ground).

The Athletic polled hundreds of players from across the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL about their opinions surrounding how sports betting impacts players — the responses were haunting.

Trump Admin is planning to ask Congress to dramatically cut funding for transit as part of the 2026 infrastructure law.

The proposal would eliminate the transit account, which funds billions of dollars in capital expenses. It would also prevent states from “flexing” roads funds for transit.
