AI has actively made life worse for literally everyone

- tech is now more expensive
- you cannot trust most media of reality anymore
- programs barely function
- energy prices
- literal psychosis
- your voice can be literally stolen for evil
- more spyware

but hey, you can avoid paying an artist.

It still matters if things are real
In the comments, people note that it’s AI and the poster responds that he just doesn’t care.

That’s an easy block.
this is AI, as should be obvious by the PICE vest, please stop sharing it.

Within days of Columbine, my high school banned trench coats, graphic tees, and all black clothing. Now, AI is wreaking havoc in younger Gen Z and Alpha and educators are actively encouraging them to use it even more.
Trench coats informally banned from every high school since 98 but the suicide robot is installed on your school laptop automatically

It's never been easier to quietly and carefully teach yourself material that you never learned. Youtube is full of lectures and the internet is full of notes.

PLEASE DO NOT MAKE CHATGPT YOUR TEACHER

Pick human teachers & when I say learn, I mean to do things yourself, not to prompt wolfram alpha

Striking a boat full of unarmed civilians is murder. The first strike was murder. The followup strike was also murder.

We're not at war. It's not a "war crime". Everyone involved, including the POTUS, SecDef, the Admiral who relayed it and the person who pressed the button needs to be on trial.

An easy way to explain luddites:

Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.

And then, tried to keep paying the now 12x more productive workers the same wages as before.

That's it, that was the problem luddites had. Not complex.

It's still very bizarre to me that the education system's response to AI cheating has largely been "we will rely on AI, a system that has been widely criticized for making things up, to tell us if you've been using AI"
I get plagiarism checkers but the "run a paper through a computer program to see if it's AI written" process seems.... flawed.

“[Eventually] humanities depts will be forced to accept AI-authored assignments, as part of revised university policy to cooperate with these billionaires. It's already happening, and our response needs to be decisive. Because our students' ability to *think* is at stake.”

really important thread ⬇️
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

You know what ChatGPT has been great for?

Crushing my spirit as 10% of certain assignments that I’ve graded this semester has unquestionably been ChatGPT (eg source-call to LLM in citation links).

And another 10% or so obviously is but I can’t “prove” it.

Y'all. Add "-AI" to the end of your search query in Google and you'll get results blessedly free of Gemini nonsense.

And it didn't just remove the AI summaries. It significantly changed the results I was shown.

I cannot overstate how nice this is. It's like a breath of fresh air.

I'm an "A.i." abolitionist.

No consumer-facing LLMs or generative "A.i." in anything.

Sure, machine learning in science and a few other limited applications is fine.

But consumer-facing LLMs and generative "A.i." that are based on theft, push disinfo, and can be manipulated by billionaires?

No.

Absolutely fucking grim.
We have a “poverty trap” and it’s driving the destruction of social cohesion.

The “poverty line” is’t 35,000, it’s $150,000, and making more than one, and less than the other is worse than being “poor”.

Which is why the rage.

Nearly all drivers say vehicles' lights are too bright in study
