It didn't so much miss the point as fly over it at the speed of sound launching fireworks and screaming.

The only explaination is that some-one in Hollywood was trying to kill Alan Moore but didn't have the guts to challenge him to the wizard battle they knew they'd lose.
fun question: what’s the maddest you’ve ever been leaving a movie theater? not necessarily worst movie you’ve seen, but the one that just pissed you off the most. mine is Batman v Superman

Why do people want to do magic in the first place? What benefits do they get from it?

What makes magic worth the trouble or risk for people, especially if it's extremely difficult and/or dangerous?

Do they even have a choice at all?

The question 'Is it worth the price' is something that my characters struggle with alot.

It can make the impossible possible. Instantainous travel over long distances, Miracle Cures and breaking the laws of physics are all possible. 1/2

What's the relationship between magic and the law in your world?

Is magic illegal? If so, how is the law enforced?

If it's legal, are there any specific techniques that ARE illegal or forbidden? Why?

Is magic perhaps used to *enforce* the law?

#Febchantment Oh time to get into the murky laws and societal change in my world! Magic is not TECHNICALLY illegal. The royal and noble class can use it and should use it, since magic keeps nature from fading. But there is a growing opposition to magic because of rampant dark magic. (1/3)

Those with any skill are [supposed to be] trained and registered. It's obviously illegal to use magic for nefarious purposes, but because humans don't usually have strong magic, there are few concerns. People blessed with greater power are given leeway since the gods must love them.

Well, Arcane society is hidden from the rest of the world, so it's forbidden to give anything magical to the 'untalented.' It goes the other way, with the 'talented' barred from using modern technology.

But it's all about conrol. 1/2

With numen, probably the most powerful use is the process that keeps the whole city of Arx Lucis up in the air.

Can't say any more about how that actually works though bc SPOILERS.

With the Supernals, it's the Secret Third Way of fusing... which is also spoilers 😅

This might be a tricky question, but in your opinion, what is the ✨️most powerful✨️ use of magic in your system?

Of course, this all depends on how you define "powerful"! It may not necessarily have anything to do with how much damage is dealt...

I think what I find most offensive about this is the idea that government is so deeply interested in the mental health of teenagers, when it's presently trying to cover up a massive increase in suicides that appear directly connected to its legislation around healthcare for trans teens

It is a rare occurrence, but every once in a while, a God may choose to inhabit (possess) one of their earthly followers. When they do this, the person is temporarily capable of MUCH more powerful magic, due to becoming an avatar for a god. 🧵

I can actually definitively answer this: creatio ex nihilo. All magic involves manipulating/influencing, changing, etc. what exists. Everything's in a state of flux, but nothing *new* arises. Even elementals are more expressions, coagulations, manifestations of what already is.

In theory, there exists what Wizards call a "perpetual spell", or self-perpetuating magic. This is kinda their holy grail - it's sort of like Cold Fusion. For hundreds of years wizards have worked to try and create a spell that is capable of sustaining —

Lost Talent is a contemporary fantasy, and there is a powerful enchantment that covers the UK and causes the 'Untalented' to forget about any magic that they see.

It's controled by a single family that wields massive political power because of it. 1/2

A month and a half before my release date. Wasn't quite prepared for how stressfull that is.

Because of numerous factors, I have limited time and scope for self promo.

So its frustrating when one of the few oppotunities I do have is out of my control, and looks like it isn't going to happen.

There's 2 types of Otherworld magic schools: Magomancy Institute, the palatial phrontistery of Fae magic, wonder & enchantment.

And Scholomance, a dark, unholy academy of profane rites, ritual sacrifice, wailings, bloodstains, & black magic.

This is an in depth one...

In Lost Talent (out 3rd April), There are four main branches of Magic.

The first is Evocation, which is the channeling of magical power into energy or force.

It's Mina's speciality, though she'd never admit to it. 1/4

For the Library, magic is second only to research, and Library mages' favorite subject to research *is* magic XD

It's treated as both a scientific and artistic discipline and is practically the end all be all skill that children need to learn to thrive in the Library
