This profile of Taco Bell’s innovation chief is fabulous.

It shows how hard it is to nail the culinary, the marketing/virality AND the engineering. 🌮

There is a post circulating on Bluesky encouraging the moving of a frozen turkey straight into a pot of hot oil. We are combating this misinformation the best way we know how - through the power of dance music.

Oh my god
For Big Game week between Cal and Stanford I tracked down the anonymous Oski and Stanford Tree who got into a nationally televised brawl on ESPN 30 years ago that required police intervention. The untold story involves 18 beers, suspensions & lots of blood.

Judging middle school entrepreneurship fair applications and it doesn't get any points on the rubric, but gotta appreciate the kid who crossed out the "how many items to break even" question and wrote "I just want to do this. There's no way I'll cover my costs."

What better time to write about Sega's influential classic, World Series Baseball, than during the actual World Series? It's not just the gameplay and presentation here that drove the direction of baseball games, but also that it managed to unite both MLB and MLBPA licenses in one game.

It was all bullshit. The flags. The pocket Constitutions. The "Don't Tread" nonsense. The faux patriotism and claims about defending ideals of America. Once they found an avatar who gave them license to be the angry assholes they always wanted to be, they were happy to see it all torn down.

I work with Veterans. If I told them that they "killed people and broke things for a living" they would (rightfully) tell me to go to hell.

Those that have had to kill someone in the line of duty most often view it with sadness, regret, and one of the worst experiences of their lives.
