Clapping my flippers together and honking like a harbor seal when a Super Bowl ad for a condiment or gambling app featuring two celebrities unexpectedly reveals a third celebrity as its punchline. Bouncing a ball around on my snout. My wife has to throw me a herring to get me to calm down.

Today is the birthday of Fred Ray (Feb. 4, 1920-Jan. 23, 2001). A frequent Superman cover artist in the 1940s, he redesigned the “S” shield into the look it would retain throughout much of the Golden Age. He also did covers for Batman & others titles, & drew the DC hero Tomahawk for two decades.

“I’m not surprised this happened,” Ilhan Omar attacker Anthony Kazmierczak’s brother said. “Not at all. Unfortunately, he and my mother are both right-wing extremists.”

"In my mind, he’s a piece of s**t," he added.

That Masters of the Universe trailer points to a movie perhaps best served as a pre-checkout morning PPV at a mid-level hotel chain over a breakfast of vending machine pretzels and warm soda in a cold can. (Complimentary.)

Superman's daily strip first appeared on January 16, 1939, when the character was less than a year old but was already a sensation. (These strips are the first to refer to the planet Krypton, which didn't occur in the comic books until later in 1939.) Here are the first two weeks of dailies:

ICE agents only do this because they are extremely well-trained and experienced with the situations they are creating
ICE agents fled from the crowd and left behind their CONOPS battle plan for Minneapolis, including agent's names, hotel rooms, phone numbers, boxes of license plates, and tac radio frequencies.

They aren't specialists in violence they're just dicks the government gave badges to, don't mythologize being a thug because you're scared of loud noises
It’s worth considering that an overnight dismantling of ICE in 2029 would release into the wild a whole herd of specialists in violence with scant other marketable skills.
